June 17, 2006   -  Our annual picnic was held in June on a day that started with torrential rains and turned into an absolutely beautiful day of fun and food for over 100 participants.  The event was held in cooperation with "Our Little Heroes" the pediatric oncology parents support group affiliated with University Hospital at Stonybrook.

There were characters, music, rides, games, cotton candy, and all the fixin's for a great day of fun.  We even had a visit from the Ridge Fire Department and the children got the chance to go inside a real fire truck and talk with the volunteers that took time from their busy schedules to visit with the kids.  We even had the children draw the pictures that are being used on this year's Holiday Cards

And what picnic would not be complete without ice cream?  And lot's of it provided by our very good friends at First Data Corporation in Melville, NY.  Our friends at the Ridge Fire Department kept the fires going and the barbeques rolling as the kids were treated to burgers, hot dogs, and other BBQ delights.

We thank everyone who donated their free time to make this event a great memory for the children and their families.
